As a lead singer, guitarist, recording artist, and manager for the Pjae Stanley Band, I developed one of the most sought after, highest paid, fully booked bands on the world famous, tourist destination Island of Phuket, Thailand, which receives several million tourists annually. I have been fully booked here for over five years.
It has been my good fortune to hire Michael for a wide variety of live engagements: Duo, trio, full band re-occurring gigs at five star resorts, full band gigs at special events (wedding and corporate), and leader of my full band at the Asia Life Music festival. Michael Mitchell always performed in all live music environments with the highest level professionalism, including outstanding musicianship, timeliness, and a willingness to assist with non-music, gig related tasks such as equipment setup and take-down. He also assisted and often fully managed the technical aspects of the PA systems.
In addition to a wide range of live performances, I have also employed Mr. Mitchell in extensive studio recording sessions. In every aspect of musicianship and professionalism he has exceeded all expectations. His multiple instrumental ability, which includes drums, bass guitar, and keyboard, meets or exceeds all the benchmarks of a studio session musician one would expect to find in renowned music centers such as Nashville, Tennessee, or Los Angeles, California. Having paid for studio session musicians in both of these cities at professional recording studios, I am personally qualified to evaluate Michael’s abilities. His musical skills and his willingness to assist with either his valuable input or simply taking direction was singularly outstanding.
Mr. Mitchell was the primary musician and background vocalist on a major recording project which included full arrangements on ninety-three songs and took several months of studio time to conclude. Even though I have relocated from Thailand to Central America, I look forward to continuing to work with Michael in recording sessions (he’s that good to work with).

Firstly, working with Mike Mitchell is easy, fun and what the entertainment industry really needs, a person that can entertain. His stage presence is fantastic. For me personally as the band leader of The Vagrants, what I need is someone that just takes initiative and does things without asking a million questions. Mike does that, and does things right.
His playing speaks for itself, but the big surprise for me was how well he plays all the different instruments. There are many musicians that say they play a few instruments and it sometimes makes me sceptical. A Keyboard player of Mike's calibre saying "Yeah I play drums" and then playing as good as any session player I have played with was amazing. He played for The Vagrants, but also as a multi-instrumentalist at a large benefit concert with revolving musicians. He was a god send on drums, keys and bass. In a bit of a tight situation, as I watched as Mike took over the stage set up, and hook up the PA, i knew I had never really worked with someone as multi-talented as Mike. The sound engineer was a bit handicapped on the night, but all was smoothed over by Mike as I attended other things.
Working together again? I really hope so!
